I came across a platform called Ko-fi through Carrie Moyana Gebhardt. I like playing with some of these outlets, arranging data is a thing of mine, so I have created a page there where I will list some handmade items for sale, and post things from time-to-time.
It's a platform for creators to get tips and donations from supporters, reach money goals, offer content subscriptions etc. A little like Patreon (which I have not ever looked at). I'm using it mostly as a place to list some things in the shop. They do charge a 5% fee on sales, but they don't charge a listing fee like Etsy, and the whole interface is a little less complex.
I was in the process of listing things on my website in a little 'Market Stall' page on the day that the data cap happened so not doing that now ay, as I can't presently upload photos. Besides which, Ko-fi is a fun platform to interact with. I can list things there and not pay a cent in listing fees. So they can sit there indefinitely over years unsold and I won't be paying every 1-3 months for the privilege. If these items are going to sit unused in my stash for another 7 years, they might as well be on display somewhere.
I have more items to list. That will happen as it happens, until it gets done or doesn't happen.
($update:the drawstring purses are no longer available. I decided just to claim and use them myself, because they are gorgeous, made of one-of-a-kind expensive hand-dyed yarn, and make me feel happy when I see and touch them. I may claim and use the bracelet soon too).
Oh, yes, I have a tip jar too btw. Just a Paypal button, but it's a figurative jar.
It's been there a few years now and has not been used even once. Hahahahahahahaha. (Oh wait - it may have been used once, I was given a wondrous surprise last year of a random kind - not for anything except gifting - beautiful it was). I shall still highlight the Tip Jar here because who knows, someone may feel like tipping me a few coins for the amount of expansion they've gained after swimming through the torrents of data I have outlayed here and elsewhere.
Or potentially I'm just full of my own glory and what I have outlayed isn't all that special nor worthy of a few dollars. It's a thought I have from time-to-time, that I am doing that thing that neuro-divergents do where they think their special interest really is cosmic scale special, and to others it is only like wildflowers which they have a right to pick from the side of the road and never pay anyone for having grown.
Ooooo yes, I am rolling in my saltiness now. Hee hee hee.
